Summary

The threads are designed to have a 10 degree taper on the "bottom" side to match the ACME thread surface it engages, and flat on the "top" to minimize unnecessary binding. The plug has an center tapered seat that engages the propane hose center brass fitting to create a snug sealing surface. The plug will seat at about 1.5 full turns, providing plenty of thread engagement, and its "shaft" is long enough to clear the longest female hose-end cap that I have. The cap will bottom out and provide a snug seal on a male ACME thread, such as on a 15-lb propane bottle.

I've checked these on several propane bottles and hose fittings. I have one fitting (a 1-lb bottle refill adapter from Amazon) that the cap doesn't quite fit correctly on - the threads start to bind before the cap bottoms out. This refill adapter does not fit on the other two cap designs I've tried either, and I suspect that the thread pitch is out of spec.

Cap variations embossed with "FULL", "PARTIAL", and "EMPTY", blank, and with a through-hole for a tether are provided. G-code files for a Prusa Mini and Fusion 360 models are provided.

No supports are needed. I printed these in PETG with 4 exterior perimeters and 30% gyroid infill. ABS/ASA may be needed if they will be getting hot or sun UV exposed for the long term.
