Summary

I purchased an older dust collector for wood working and the suction slide valve assembly broke. So I created my own version with pieces that slide onto each other so that if something breaks again, it is easily re-printed withing a day and back up and running.

Print Settings

  • Printer brand:

    Creality

  • Printer:

    CR-10

  • Rafts:
    No
  • Supports:
    Yes
  • Resolution:
    .20
  • Infill:
    30
  • Filament brand:

    Eryone

  • Filament color:

    Black

  • Filament material:

    PETG

  • Notes:

These were settings I used. Not all parts required supports, just the valve assembly block. The others i oriented to not need supports.

Post-Printing

Once all parts are printed, the slide stop glues to the slide. There is a slight cutout for where it goes. Super glue or a good plastic glue is good. Once dried, set the slide assembly onto the slide valve body, and the slide valve cover glues to the body with the slide in the middle to lock in the slide and the stop is withing the radius of the vacuum port. Once glues, it should slide freely, but not bind. The rest should be self explanatory.

How I Designed This

I concepted the design with Plasticity, taking the critical dimension diameters of the parts I specifically adapt to. Large port is 4", my hose was 62mm, so i threw in the 100MM to 62MM adapter piece just in case. You can always resize these as needed if you are good with CAD software.
