Thats why I made this m18 belt clip. Slides in and locks in with a click just as if youre inserting it in to a tool. Removal is same way, just squeeze the ears. The battery will not fall out of the holder. Slide the dead one in to it and finish the job without having to walk back.

The clip piece is robust but I also figure it might be the first thing to break at some point. So I made it slide in via dove tail and easy to quickly print up another if it does break. On top of that, remove the clip and use the 2 screw holes to mount it under your cabinet or work bench as an M18 battery holders.

I printed them standing on end as shown in the screen grab to minimize supports. NOTE: My slicer didnt show supports for the ears but my printer did print them
