The original is great and fits our 5 lobe tank handle well. We have a 6 lobe tank handle it doesn't fit. I made this in OpenSCAD to try to allow for customization of the idea to fit other sizes and lobe counts. I have tried to ensure reasonable values give a valid STL but always double check for your situation.

A note on printing: this will print with the MMU if you desire, for convenience there are both a “Flag()” and a “Flags()” module. If using MMU the Flags() generates all of the “red” parts from the original conveniently arranged to load as a part in Prusaslicer. If you prefer printing separate pieces then use of the correct number of “Flag()” prints is needed.

If you have used OpenSCAD before, I've tried to have this well commented and it should be easy to read. I have calls to each assembly at the bottom of the file, simply uncomment(delete “//” from in front of) each assembly and render then export as STL and slice where you want. One handle will consist of 1x Base(), 1x Shell(), 1x Guts(), and as many Flag() as you have lobes on your handle. If using a multimaterial printer, the Guts() part should be combined with the Flags() part and no individual Flag() parts would need to be added.

Here are the adjustable parameters: (all measurements are in millimeters)

Lobes: How many blobs are a part of your handle

hRadius: Radius measurement from tip of blob to center of the handle

hInnerRadius: Radius measurement from a valley between blobs to the center of the handle

hThickness: how tall/thick your handle is

iThickness: how tall/thick do you want the colored indicator areas?

iRadius: Radius of the handle overall, measured to a peak of a blob

iInnerRadius: Radius of the handle overall, measured from a valley to the center

clearance: how much slop do you want for the recess where the tank valve handle sits?

This works to create a 5 or a 6 lobe handle and should work for other values if other values exist, so long as they have the scalloped handle edge of semicircles.
