Summary

A simple adaptor to allow the standard Falcon2 enclosure vent hose to exhaust through a organic fume filter, the type that usually twists on to a spray mask.

I printed this with the filter part direct on to the build plate, then manually added some medium supports to the inside large flat plane.

I'd expect this to print OK on an FDM printer, the walls are 2mm. you may want to add supports unless your printer is fantastic at bridging.

How I Designed This

unnecessary and boring info about the design

I decided to try and trace a photo in Fusion to get the profile for the vent adaptor. getting the image on to a canvas and scaled was simple enough. getting a spline to actually follow the outline wasn't so easy.

I used the dimensions from the in box fan adaptor to profile the hose connector, but to speed up my print I shortened it to just 20mm from the 40mm the original was. I have no regrets about this decision, it allowed me to print the model before I went to bed.

having drawn the profile sketches and extruded some bits I used Shell to remove the end faces and create the bulk of the model. probably pretty normal stuff but I'd not used Shell like that before, so I had a small moment of joy when it worked as I'd hoped.

After adding a few fillets to make it pretty I realised it needed some clearance to the filter didn't get pressed against the internal face and restrict the air flow, so a quick offset on the sketch and a small extrude and the model is now complete.
