Summary

On a recent project I needed to use heat set inserts to secure a lid to a box. Not wanting to use my regular soldering iron for the tip insert, I purchased a budget soldering iron to use just for the heat set inserts. The holder for the iron was not very good (or stable) so I created this stand to hold not just the iron, but the insert tips as well.

The stand features raised lettering that identifies the size of each tip. I later purchased a fine tip paint marker and highlighted the sizes in white.
