Summary

Low Friction Slip-on Spool Holder for 8mm Spool Shafts

Requires two 8mm x 22mm x 7mm bearings (skateboard bearings)

This holder is designed for spools with an inner diameter of around 54mm (e.g. eSun), using the flex and resistance of the material to provide a good friction hold on the spool. Should work with inner diameters from 50mm to 56mm but these haven't been tested.

Greatly reduces filament feed resistance over having the spool sitting on the bare shaft (largely due to the bearings), leading to better print reliability.

Note: This holder can be quite stiff on the first couple of spool changes. After having a spool mounted for a few days, the arms will loose some of their resistance and spool changes will be easy.
