Hey Guys,
this is the first version of my Ender 7 direct drive toolhead. It is still a work in progress.
After i mounted this fanduct on my Ender7 i got a print area from:
X-244mm
Y-255mm
I use know an energychain mounting parts for this are also available.
It should work with these hotends:
Phaetus Dragon
Phaetus Dragon HF
Phaetus Rapido
Phaetus Rapido HF
you need to print all parts, and the kuehlkanal links in original and mirrored.
I used the following spare parts:
4x M3x35mm Screws
10x M3x8mm Screws
4x M3x20 mm Screws
2x M3 Nut
2x M3x12mm
24x M3 melt inserts
4x the Hotend Screws M2.5 i think
Capricorn PTFE Tube
LDO Orbiter V2
Phaetus Dragon
2x Winsin Dual Ball 24V 5015 Fans (Partcooling)
40x40x10 Fan (Hotencooling)
Schleppkette: Amazon (Veekaft mini schleppkette R28 10x20mm 1000mm length)
I used the original beld fix from the original ender 7 carriage and the original X-Endstop with screws
I disampled every thing from the original Fanduct also the metal carriage.
First put in every Ø4.3-4.5mm hole a melt insert.
after that you can start with the asemble.
- Mount the base rail part on the rail carriage
- mount the belt with the belt clem to the back part
- use 2 M3x35mm screws to mark out the back part on the base plate and mount the X-Limit switch to the front part. There are 2 smal holes for the tiny screws.
- use the 2 M3x35mm to mount the front part
- Mount the top part between the back and the front part with the last two M3x35mm screws
- now mount the hotend on the frontpart
- use the 2 m3x12mm screws for the Orbiterhalterung
- put the PTFE-Tube into the middle hole and cut it to the right length
- mount the LDO Orbiter V2 with the M3 screws.
- Put the 5015 fans on top of the Kuehlkanal links and fix is with the screws and nuts
- put the Kuehlkanal links and the morrored one onto the carriage.
- do all the cablemanagement know (Thermistor, heater, fan cabels, motorcabel Orbiter,...)
- Mount the 40x40x10 Fan in front of the hotend
- change the limit parts from the X and the Y achse to the printed ones.
- Write the knew print size in your Slicer and firmware of your printer. Also change the extruder settings to this ones from the Orbiter Page: https://www.orbiterprojects.com/orbiter-v2-0/
Finish
In the future I will add an BL-Touch mound and an inductive sensor mount. Also should this fan duct for the Rapido UHF and the EV3D REVO. and ADXL mount should also be part of this fanduct in future.
I hope I will finde a solution to get a bigger printing space in x.
