Summary

This is a set of customizable holders for 60mm hexagons. They can be used to play many games including Memoir 44, Settlers of Catan, Commands and Colors games, and many more.

One combination of pieces that can be used to create a 9x13 hexagon board (like those used in Memoir 44) is to print the following:
2 X (A) 5x4 Plate
4 X (B) 4x4 Block
2 X (C) 4x1 Snake
1 X (D) 5x1 Snake
2 X (E) Corner E
2 X (F) Corner F
6 X (G) Long Border
4 X (H) Short Border
2 X (I) Short Border

I was able to print all of this for about 750g of PLA. This is support less and can be printed on low quality settings on an well tuned FDM printer.

Additional pieces are added to the collection to help you make different shapes if wanted. There are many other combinations of pieces that would work for printing. Find what works for you.

Thanks to Kokr for the original files, and I made several important modifications to make the pieces snap together easier for my printer. Note that I removed the tabs that connected the hexagons on the interior together as they were very figity, The pressure of the boarder pieces is able to easily hold everything together.

Supportless, Support-less

Memoir '44 is a light wargame or war-themed strategy board game for two players. It was created by Richard Borg and published in 2004 by Days of Wonder. Illustration done by Julien Delval and Cyrille Daujean. The game can be played with up to six players if played in teams and up to eight players in the "Overlord" scenarios. However, "Overlord" requires two copies of the game. It received the 2004 International Gamers Award for General Strategy, 2-Player category[1] and The Wargamer 2004 Award for Excellence.[2] The game is published in English and French (as Mémoire 44) by Days of Wonder.

Commands & Colors: Ancients is a board wargame designed by Richard Borg, Pat Kurivial, and Roy Grider, and published by GMT Games in 2006. It is based on Borg's Commands & Colors system using some elements similar to his other games such as Commands & Colours: Napoleonics, The Great War, Memoir '44 and Battle Cry designed to simulate the "fog of war" and uncertainty encountered on real battlefields.

Commands & Colors: Ancients focuses on the historic period of 3000 BC - 400 AD.
Components

The core game includes several hundred wood blocks in two colors for the Roman/Syracusan armies and Carthaginian army. Sheets of stickers representing different unit types must be affixed to the blocks prior to initial play. 16 small wooden blocks representing "victory banners" and 7 larger plastic dice must also have stickers applied. Extra stickers are included for use as replacements. The game also contains a full-color rule book, color scenario book, and two color two-page double-sided "cheat sheets" for players to reference during play for dice results and unit statistics. The board is folded card stock laid flat for play. Hexagonal terrain pieces are laid on the board when called for by a scenario. A deck of command cards is included.
Gameplay
Units are arranged on the board according to maps and scenario descriptions in the scenario book. Players are dealt a number of command cards equal to their "command value" for the chosen scenario. Often players have different command values and therefore different numbers of cards. Players take turns playing their cards to "order" units, generally allowing the ordered units to move and conduct combat. Cards often refer to a section of the battlefield, either left, center, or right, or some combination of these.[1] There are also many special cards that allow very specific actions. Play continues until one player earns the requisite number of victory banners for the scenario. Victory banners are earned each time a player completely eliminates an enemy unit or leader.

Command and Colors system RSS Feed
The Command and Colors system is a simplified wargaming system designed by Richard Borg. Common elements of all Command and Colors games are a deck of Command Cards, which can be classified as Section cards and Tactics cards, and Battle Dice. In the Command and Colors System the playing field is divided into a center section and a right and left flank. Section cards are used to allow the ordering of unit(s) occupying one or more sections. Tactics cards are also available to allow special attacks. Another identifying feature of the system is the use of battle dice to resolve individual battles.
