Summary

Purpose

Retention tab to secure ceiling speakers to ceiling board. Ideal if you lost or broke an original tab when (re)installing speakers

Printing

On my Creality Ender 3D V2, I needed a brim to allow adhesion. I also needed supports to prevent the block of the tab body collapsing. These need trimming off.

Finishing

I heated one end of an original screw over a naked flame for five seconds before driving into the hole in the shaft to create the thread

How I Designed This

My first ever design

I measured one of the original parts using a digital caliper and then, after watching some Tinkercad tutorials, designed the part using two positive cylinders, one negative cylinder, three cuboids and a trimmed 45 degree offset cuboid to create the neck
