This custom-designed 3D printed adapter bridges the gap between the versatile KlickFix Orletanos saddlebag system and the specific saddle supports of Triumph motorcycles equipped with Motone holders. Created out of necessity, this adapter solves the common issue of finding a compatible mounting solution for riders who appreciate the functionality of KlickFix but are challenged by the limited sizing options available for Motone-equipped Triumph bikes. With this innovative adapter, you can now seamlessly integrate your favorite KlickFix saddlebag with your Triumph motorcycle, ensuring a secure and aesthetically pleasing setup for all your rides.

I loaded three print files into a Cura project. I arranged the three files in such a way that they could be printed in place as shown in the screenshot. A small bend, and the joint is free.

Klickfix Triumph: is the outer holder that is screwed onto the base plate.
Klickfix Triumph lid: is the button for opening and closing, which clamps around the Motone bar.
Klickfix Triumph Spacer: print two of these spacers, which are placed under the two springs of the original holder to adjust the distance to the button correctly.

Post-Printing

I cleaned the print by removing small burrs and threads with a pair of small nippers. Also, I cleared the screw holes with a 6mm wood drill bit by hand. Afterwards, I briefly cleaned the component with a hot air gun. The part could further be smoothed with wood filler, sanded with sandpaper, and coated with black paint. However, I opted not to do this, as the Prusa Galaxy Black filament is already very beautiful.

How I Designed This

I measured the adapter by hand and created it in iterative steps using the Tinkercad program. Subsequently, I conducted numerous printing trials until the design fit perfectly. I am not a CAD expert, and probably the design could be a bit more aesthetically pleasing. However, I am very satisfied with my work, and it functions very well.
