Summary

I use the sealed lead-acid 12V batteries (the type used in UPS, Trailcams, etc) to power various portable devices. If you know what they are, you understand that the terminals are dangerously exposed, risking a hazardous short-circuit!

To solve this, I have created the 12V Battery Plug Block! It not only covers the terminals to prevent the risk of short, it gives a solid lock feel so you can be confident that good connection is made between the terminals and your spade connectors!

I designed this for use with the "blue" spade terminals which are readily available at hardware stores, auto stores, Walmart, etc. Simply crimp your spade terminals to the wires and pull the terminal into position inside the Plug Block (see photos for more detail). A couple drops of glue will ensure your spade connectors stay put inside the Plug Block even when you unplug the battery.

The side tabs of the Plug Block fit snugly over the edges of your battery. Once the Plug Block is completed, simply slide it forward toward the battery terminals. Press Plug Block firmly onto terminals to ensure a good connection. You should feel it sort of "click" into place.

Prints in about 3 hours at 50% infill. Use a good layer height setting of .16mm or less. Make sure to print with the spade terminal holes facing up! This way you won't need any supports.

Once finished, you can relax, confident that your battery terminals are safe from shorts!
