BASE units to screw on the rotary unit, using the bolts which came with the other brackets provided with the rotary unit.

The TOP unit is an iteration from 4 types and the best option is added as a file (see previous versions on the pictures)

The fit is -0.3mm, which means they snap in-place but are a bit loose on the touch, which is not a problem when you tension the to-be-engraved object as it will find is fit. See the picture, the TOP units do flex a bit but because it is all designed to be "a spring", this adds stability.

I printed all on the "backside" so there are no overhangs.

    I used blue PLA and standard settings, relatively gihg infill with lightning just because it's a small print so does not really matter.

    I printed all on the "backside" so there are no overhangs.

Post-Printing

To clean-up, I just took a lighter to burn away any of the residual stringing.

How I Designed This

I always design with the 3D printing process in mind, and I wanted something which could be easilly changed in "grab size".

For the Base Unit I initially only had 2 "slots" in the length direction but changed it to 4 so there was more flexibility.

For the Top Unit I tried out 3 different designs before ending up with the final one. The picture shows these.
The "open" design was not stiff enough and did not "stick" enough on the BASE. Therefore the first design with an addition for smaller objects was the perfect solution.
