Summary

The Il Motorsport console is a great console. It has some cool accessories, including a 12v battery powered light that turns on when the lid is opened. It is very bright and cold harsh light. The below allow you to use dimmer/warmer leds and connect it to the lighting circuit of the car, using the ashtray light harness from the oem console. You can probably do either of these mods if you like the quality of light or don't mind occasional battery replacement.

1 is a dummy MN21/23 battery that is used to bring 12v from the ashtray light connector on the OEM console to the accessory light for the popular aftermarket Il Motorsport console.

Use small ring terminals and short screws, I think #4 x .25" to connect the wire to each end.

2 is a replacement card for the led circuit board insert. It fits in the lamp assembly like the original board. It has 4 notches to allow two small zip ties to secure 3 new dimmer/warmer LED modules. The notches are spaced so the zip ties fit between the leds on the new led modules. There is a square hole that accomodates the led module wires and the largest component on the rear of the new modules.
