Summary

Carbon and HEPA Recirculation filtration system for Qidi X Max 3.

This uses either the stock 80mm X 80mm X 25mm exhaust fan, or you can purchase an aftermarket 80mm X 80mm X 38mm pressure fan. Either will work but you will get a faster recirculation with the larger more powerful fan.

2X #8 x 3/4" or 4mm x 20mm sheet metal screws

Filter housing to fan
4X #8 x3/8" or 4mm x 10mm sheet metal screws

Fan to exhaust duct
4X M4x12mm hex head w/ nuts

    Recommend printing in ASA or other heat resistant material.

    Supports needed for the exhaust duct and maybe for the 38mm filter housing.

Post-Printing

Post processing:

Sand the mating flanges flush.

Make sure the fasteners screw into all the holes, if they're too tight you can drill them out to be larger or you can heat the fastener with a soldering iron an drive the screw in while its semi hot to form the threads. The holes on the fan may need to be opened up if using the #8 screw but shouldn't need it if using an M4 screw.

Make sure the filter fits snug

Make sure the filter housing fits around the bosses on the enclose

The enclosure holes will need to be drilled out to a larger size to let the screw through.

The XM3 enclosure is covered in large orifices to leak air from, its recommended to cover or plug them in any way you feel.
