Summary

The Genmitsu 4040 Pro CNC router is far easier to set up if there is a zero probe for the cutting tool. The latest delivery of this router includes a probe, but the router frame has no place to stow it. The probe's 3-wire JST plug is not designed for easy or repeated extraction, so removal is unwise. Hence, a custom holder for the probe and its 2 feet of wire is needed.

The holder hugs onto the left X-axis structural cross-member near the the probe's control box and holds the probe and its wire.

Each Genmitsu CNC router has a different design so, this holder will only fit the 4040 Pro model.

A brim can be useful. There is no recommended material since there is virtually no stress on the holder. This design is in PETG because it was already in the printer.

Post-Printing

Amost nothing to do after printing.

After printing, the usual clean up of edges and removal of supports yields a usable part.

There is a depressed patch on the roof of the hexagonal arch for double sided tape should a secure anchor of the holder onto the CNC housing be desired

A production after-thought. The probe box bottom has a curved depression that matches the probe's shape. The center of that could be cut out to allow easy removal of and cuttings that may land around the probe.
