I took the un-patterned version from Kenopy's Print-in-Place Pop-Up Wallet and reduced its thickness by 2 cards because I like carrying only 3 cards with me. I also modified the hinge so that it has a solid axle connecting both sides of the outer case that the card lever is built around (instead of the original's "bumps.")
My first print attempt's elephant foot fused the lever to the case and one of the 4 slits at the top that make the top compliant was fused. My second attempt was printed more slowly @ 30mm/s and on a raft. The raft popped off cleanly and after pushing the lever upward with a fingernail, the wallet was ready to use!

I printed slower than usual and with 5 walls but 0 infill (I cared more about strength than lightness) and supports turned off. I also made sure it printed "upright" with the lever handle at the bottom and the card opening at the top. (Out of paranoia, I also turned the model so that when my printer bed moved, it wasn't accelerating a broad, flat wall; so that the extruder moved in the wallet's narrowest dimension: its thickness, and the bed's movement provided the wallet's "width.")
Post-Printing
Snap off of raft.
Push card lever up from bottom with fingernail.
VERY CAREFULLY (with adult supervision) clean slots that may have fused with x-acto knife or razorblade.
How I Designed This
Polygon modelling in Blender.
- Imported original STL into Blender
- Made sure dimensions and units were compatible
- Selected appropriate vertices on one side and moved "inward" by the standard thickness of a credit card
- Repeated on other side. (The shortest, longest, and middle card steps remain on the lever)
- Selected and deleted faces and vertices for hinge bumps
- Joined vertices to create edges and faces on one side to other to form axle
- Selected edge rings and scaled (constrained to 2 dimensions) to conserve gap required for printing in place. (I might have also added a bevel to some rings - I can't remember)
- Exported modified STL
- Imported modified STL into Cura and uniformly scaled model to match required dimensions
