Summary
This is a replacement friction ring for the American Standard Town Square part M961729-0070A (Friction Nut and Friction Ring part). If you overtighten the nut, it's pretty easy to break the original. Ideally you won't be as silly as me and do that, but if you do, this should save your project compared to waiting a week+ for the part!
Compared to the original, this part does not sit as far down. This seems to be fine; just align the friction nut, correctly align your pillar with the friction nut's flat spots, and push it over the ring.

The original part feels like nylon. I can't say why that was selected initially and printing this part in nylon would have been more of a pain than I felt like dealing with!
Mine fit perfectly, but you may need a bit of trial-and-error (or sandpaper) if your printer struggles with dimensional accuracy.
