Based on Icelandian's awesome filament redirect project, these new sensor housing and redirect things let you the move the spool to the top of the printer and feed the filament through a Bowden tube down to the z-axis assembly.
I used Icelandian's mods for a good 18 months, but got annoyed with having to feed the filament through the rollers each time I changed it (particularly fiddly on the lower roller), and I also wanted it to look a bit neater.

Pre-Build
Visit Icelandian's Instructables post and download (and print) the Filament Holder Lock and the Filament Holder - these will be used to mount the spool on the top of the printer.
You'll also need some Bowden tubing and pass-through connectors (PC4-M10); I used these from Amazon UK.
Step 1
After clearing up the supports, add a Bowden pass-through connector to both the sensor housing lid, and the redirect arm.
Step 2
Fit one end of the Bowden tube into the redirect piece, passing it through the support loop and into the connector. Press it through the connector until the end lines up with the outer face of the part.
Step 3
Mount the redirect assembly to the top of the printer, inserting the locking pin to hold it in place.
Note: you can easily remove the pin later by inserting an M4 bolt into the treaded hole in the pin and pulling it out with pliers.
Step 4
Move the sensor components from the stock housing to the new housing, and mount the new housing on the z-assembly using the original bolts.
Step 5
Roughly measure the length of Bowden tube needed (ensuring it's not super taught) between the redirector and the sensor housing (when the z-assembly is at its lowest point); cut it to length.
Optional: add a woven cable sleeve over the Bowden tube and finish the ends with a length of heat-shrink.
Step 6
Insert the free end of the Bowden tube into the sensor housing until it stops.
Note: ensure you give it a good wiggle as it needs to sit into the receiver inside the housing lid to ensure smooth flow of the filament from the tube into the printed part.
