Summary

This project was started because as I was rebuilding my 1999 Cherokee the original flimsy styrofoam condensate drain/holder for the AC evaporator decided that after 24 years it might be time to disassemble itself.

This replacement will need to be hand-fitted to a small degree (done to ensure proper fit/no rattling and avoid excessive reprints for being undersized). I recommend printing sufficiently thick walls to ensure you have around 1-2mm to play with as you size the insert. There is also the option of printing it out of softer materials like TPU.

Installation for me was fairly simple, and both the original and an aftermarket evaporator fit perfectly inside. The fitting was required for inserting the entire assembly into the air box/HVAC box behind the dashboard.

I hope this saves some folks the time and trouble of hand-cutting foam!
