Summary

Low pressure tank filler valve for stock tank, rain collector, garden pond, etc. Designed to fit in an outer shell of about 120mm of 50mm diameter PVC tube.

Post-Printing

Assembly

Requires a 8mm stainless/chrome ball (I salvaged from hamster bottle) and a ~6mm stainless washer. The washer needds to be seated for a better seal, I used a countersunk bolt with some grinding paste and a drill to make the valve seat. Do not apply any sealant grease, as it might collect debris and ruin the seal.

Dip the float in acetone for 1-2s or use acetone vapor to ensure water tightness.

The mass of the float determines the maximum opening pressure, I suggest to drill a hole to the top of the float, and fill it with water to make it ~120g, then cover the hole with a piece of tape. I tested this setup for up to about 2m water column.

Glue the washer to its place with some CA.

Apply PTFE tape to threads.
