Summary

It seems like you just don’t need D and C sized batteries as much as you used to. At least I don’t. But I need more and more coin cell batteries on hand. Specifically, CR 2032 and 357 (LR44). I had already made small battery cases for these 2 sizes for a test print I was doing, and while it did keep the batteries safe and together, the battery cases didn’t really have anywhere to live.
Then inspiration struck, as is seems to do. I had spare slots in my battery organizer. So, I remade the bases to match the diameter and height of a D-Sized battery for the CR 2032 and a C-Sized for the 357.

Post-Printing

Post print:
I installed some 2x1 mm neodymium magnets with a very small drop of Super Glue. For reference, the holes for the magnets are Ø .092 inch and .037 inch deep. When installing the magnets, I install them so that they are all “poled” the same direction. I put the smallest drop of Super Glue into each hole. Then I use a stick made of magnets stuck together and push one into the hole and slide the stick off to the side to keep the magnet in place. Once I have done this for all the magnets on a part, I press the magnets into place while removing the extra glue by use a piece of printer paper on a flat surface and moving the entire thing in a circular pattern. When I install the magnets on the mating part, I make sure to use the opposite of the magnets so that they all work like intended.
Finally, I used some water based acrylic white paint to make the recessed lettering stand out. I use an old credit card to squeegee the paint into the lettering, and then use a damp paper towel to remove the paint on the surface. You might need to do this a few times, allowing the paint to dry in-between.
