Summary

Sun can prevent the garage door sensor from functioning, preventing the door from being closed.

This slip-on visor casts a shadow over both the transmit and receive sensors, which allows the door to close reliably!

This visor is designed to fit over a Genie garage door opener sensor set (#35048R). The sensor housing is 23.95mm in diameter measured with calipers. This part is 24.1mm dia, and fits very well.

Recommended to print in PETG or ASA/ABS as its exposed to sun and summer heat.

How I Designed This

Measured the object sensor lens housing OD, and added 0.1mm. Fits well.
