So here’s probably one of the upper most bad ass ships I’ve remixed to date. The ship started out as the mothballed Olympus Corvette until, saved by innovation. The ships been heavily modified to take up a daring Mine Sweeper Role. If you’re not familiar, check out the WW2 Mine Sweepers and missions.

She’s been elongated by doner ships to house Mine Laying Starfury’s. I’ll Include them here along with the mines. So the Forecastle is encompassed with Launch Catapaults and hexagonal rotisarry style hanger bays to carry out its primary role mentioned above. The hull exension is needed for hanger deck duties and munitions storage. The Engines have been modified for greater speed. She’s been outfitted with multiple Anti Ship Cannons and Anti Fighter Cannons as well as visible Defense Grid Batteries. This is all part of the ships Design Intent. I can not express enough how important geometry matters in off planet construction. Placement wise, these ships are not ideal for long range missions and therefore would be stationed inside large task forces waiting in Hyperspace and then Jumped out into normal space to start laying mines for an approaching Minbari Fleet. And then Jump Back to Hyperspace and wait. This is what we call a multi-lateral assault strategy. Its intent is to cause massive casualty to enemy task forces with minimal loss of life.

Let’s address some questions.
Why the selections of weapons? Wide variety of Enemy Ships and Misfinformation. These Ships are just as daring as they look. Make no mistake, this is an attempt to send a further advanced enemy running.

Why Catapaults? Because every second counts. The Ships fast, and in combat situations, speed is an advantage. So if you were to add up speeds of the ship with added speeds of the Catapaults and then add the speed of the Starfurys themselves, you have a triple advantage. And with the enemies displayed in the show, every second would definitely count.

Why Olympus? Surplus, cost savings.

Why Gatling Cannons? Transponders can be manipulated to letting one side of the confict into believing that it’s a small craft in normal space from Hyperspace and fool you into a trap. So the need is warranted.

What you’re seeing here is actual Naval strategy brought into Science Fiction unapologetically.

Given the circumstances, being placed into the Earth Minbari War Timeline, Gorilla Warfare is a necessity.

Another Benefit of the ship is its ability to preform its job within an active capital warship combat engagement. The main guns of enemy ships would be targeting the capital ships and these smaller ships before being realized would be seen as secondary targets allowing for maximum back up for the capital ship line.

This sure is a gritty one.
