Summary

I purchased a Sigma 150 - 600 mm zoom lens for my Nikon D7500 camera. Since my camera has an APS-C focal plane, the effective focal length range is 275 to 900 mm. The field of view for this lens is very narrow, and one of the reviews on this lens mentioned adding a sight to assist in aiming the lens. This seemed like a good suggestion, so I designed a simple sight that can attach to the camera using the hot shoe.

The initial attempt resulted in a sight that approximated the field of view at the widest (lowest focal length) setting for the lens. I reduced the field of view by a factor of two on each side for the narrow field of view.

I have included the Fusion 360 design files if you want to make changes.
