The goal is to create a printed Universal Water-Jet Booster : the main body could be clamped to anything that goes into water from efoil to paddle through kayak and windsurf boards and even human bodies.
My maingoal though is to fly above water and use it as a foil assist, so the part I will create will focus on this goal.
But it should not be to difficult to clamp it to other things.
Reasoning
The reasoning behind using a jet instead of propellers is inspired by the US naval institute saying “A propeller moves a large volume of water at a slow speed, while a waterjet moves a small volume of water at a high speed. Waterjet propulsion is therefore able to propel a ship faster than a conventional screw propeller can.” Only concerns would be that “the jets are efficient at high speeds, but inefficient at low speeds—the opposite of propeller efficiency.”

Not sure what is considered high speed or low speed, but my understanding is that the more you reduce the output the more speed you get. So the efficiency would “just” be a mater of finding the sweet size of output for the water intake.
In order to do so, I entend to create the project and parts in different sizes, all based on plumbering pipes standards and will try different jet propeller sizes to see which combination is the most efficient.
I also intend to use the same structure without the jet part. It will allow easy comparison of efficiency but more importantly will allow quick turn arround of the setup if it turns out the propellers are the most efficient.
